Another Warm Body

I had the time of my life
With the band last night
The fire going, The drinks were flowing
And I was alright 

We played some music
And the room came alive
Then when we walked off stage
I went home, back into the night 

But then a storm came to town and clouded the light
I’m cold, wet, alone and drowning in fright

I need another warm body
I don’t care if it’s folly
I need you, to keep me company

Cuz once the people go home only I stay alone

Id take any other warm body
To join me when I get lonely
If your heart beats, then It could be lovely

Then I looked inside and flipped on a light
The kid was lost in the dark, but now he’s alright

One day I opened my eyes
To see my own grand prize
I got everything that I’d ever wanted
But would that suffice?

Then I saw the secret
Shining so bright
The thing that I was missing 
Was peace in my own way of life 

Then when the show is over I’m alone for the night
But I’m not drowning in panic, cuz I know I’m alright

Don’t need another warm body
I would care if it’s folly
I need me, to keep me company

Cuz once the people go home I embrace being alone

Can’t take just any warm body

Because one day
The right one will find me
